Volunteers

Service Opportunities

In the spirit of our school’s mission of community development and family involvement, we ask each family to contribute a minimum of 10 (5 in the twos program) hours of their time to assist the school during the year.

There are many ways to complete service hours:

  • Help with the Auction – many hands needed!
  • Cashier at the Book Fair
  • Attend a work party for painting or cleaning
  • Assist in the office
  • Help with the web site or newsletter
  • Organize, shop, garden, etc.
  • Classroom help

Keep an eye on the Volunteer white board in the main hallway just outside the office for ongoing needs, or contact the  Volunteer Coordinator.

After you complete a volunteer project, please log your hours in the Service Hours binder in the office.  We realize that not every family will be able to or wish to fulfill the service requirement, so families may opt out at $20 per hour or $200.00 for the year. We hope to make this requirement easy for The Marylhurst School families to complete.
